Hi! I’m Christy - a small business owner, HR consultant, and someone constantly balancing life, work, and everything in between. I can’t wait to share insights, stories, and lessons learned along the way. This is a space for the real and the raw—the wins, the challenges, the curveballs, and the moments that make it all worth it. I’m so glad you’re here!
The Reality of Work + Life
Running a small business, being a parent, and navigating life’s ups and downs? It’s a mix of awesome + rewarding and lonely + stressful. Some days, I feel like I’ve got it figured out. Other days, I’m winging lunch with two fruit snack pouches and some saltine crackers (my kid was not impressed, and the whole lunch table had thoughts).
What You Can Expect Here
This blog is all about developing the good stuff—in business, in leadership, in life. Here’s what I’ll be sharing along the way:
✅ HR & Small Business Insights – Because hiring, leadership, and creating a great workplace culture shouldn’t feel like an impossible puzzle.
✅ The Realities of Work & Life Balance – Spoiler: It’s not always balanced. But we’ll talk about what works, what doesn’t, and how to make peace with the messy middle.
✅ Wins & Lessons Learned – The small victories, the big challenges, and the things I wish I’d known sooner.
✅ Authentic Leadership & Growth – Because the best leaders aren’t perfect—they’re learning, adapting, and showing up anyway.
✅ Personal Reflections & Stories – The good, the hard, the hilarious, and everything in between.
Seeing Ourselves More Clearly

One thing I’ve learned? We are our own biggest critics. The things we obsess over—our mistakes, imperfections, the never-ending to-do lists—aren’t what others see.
Years ago, a co-worker asked me how I managed to do it all—work, parenting, marriage. My first thought? I don’t. Some days, I run late to meetings because I didn’t plan my calendar (or my time) well. Some nights, my husband and I don’t have the energy to talk—we just binge old episodes of Bones and ignore the laundry. And yet, that same co-worker saw someone who was trying, showing up, and pushing forward. That moment reminded me: we’re often doing better than we think.
So let’s talk about it. Let’s build something real here. Let’s celebrate the good stuff—the progress, the perseverance, and the lessons that shape us.
I’d love for you to be part of this journey. Drop a comment, share your own experiences, and let’s grow together.
Because we all have good stuff in us. And it’s worth developing.
Welcome to the blog—I can’t wait to see where this goes!
