My name is Christy Jacobson
I am the founder of DevelopHR Consulting. After more than 15 years in HR, I started DevelopHR as a resource for small business owners who often feel like HR is either unnecessary or out of reach - but who absolutely deserve access to customized, people-first support. My work is grounded in helping businesses succeed by making HR more approachable, more effective, and a whole lot less overwhelming.
My background includes employee relations, leadership development, and talent acquisition. I’m SHRM-CP certified and a trained facilitator of both the DISC profile and The 6 Types of Working Genius. Whether I’m coaching leaders, untangling compliance concerns, or helping teams work better together, my goal is always the same: give you tools, clarity, and support that actually work for how you do business. ​​The best compliment I could get? “Gosh, you’re not what I expected!” (I’ll take that every time.)

​​As for my team - well, it depends on how you define team. Technically, it’s just me and three of my loyal fur babies who never argue with my decisions. But in reality, I collaborate with a trusted network of experts in employment law, compensation analysis, payroll, and benefits. Together, we deliver top-notch HR support with heart - just without the barking.
